Chad Walter Mitchell Proceeds To Jury Trial

A Huron County circuit court case is moving toward a jury trial. Chad Walter Mitchell appeared before the court today, where a trial date was officially placed on the calendar for March 9th, 2027.

The proceedings, which involve four separate files, are expected to span two days.

Defense attorney Michelle Siev and prosecutor Timothy J. Rutkowski confirmed the timeline during the pretrial hearing.

The court has scheduled a final pretrial for February 8th, 2027.

That date serves as a critical deadline for any remaining motions, plea agreements, or defense notices, such as alibi or insanity claims.

For now, Mitchell's bond remains set at $3500, with 10% required in each of the four files.
