Huron Commissioners to Consider Extending Solar Moratorium

The Huron County Board of Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m., on Tuesday, Sept. 22, in the County Building in Bad Axe.
According to the preliminary agenda, commissioners will consider extending the moratorium on the issuance of special use permits for utility-scale solar energy facilities and battery energy storage systems.
If the moratorium is approved it will only be until the adoption of the text amendments to the Zoning Ordinance.
In other matters, the board is expected to review and adopt an updated health department fee schedule, and make appointments to the road commission, and to make some budget adjustments.
