During this month's Argyle Township Board meeting, trustees reviewed three ordinances.
Following a short discussion on workable solar, wind energy and battery storage ordinances, the board adopted them.
Municipalities throughout the state are adopting or amending green-energy ordinances.
About 30 years ago back when wind farm development was first being talked about, a special study was done on wind patterns.
The study showed the Thumb area had consistent strong winds, which made the area perfect for wind farm development.
Because of that, several wind farms were developed throughout the Thumb.
The flat and open fields are conducive for solar-farm development, which is happening in some townships.
During the meeting Clerk Edward Pfaff presented his letter of resignation effective on March 31.
With that done, the board appointed Jennifer Grifka as clerk.
The board also approved scheduling the annual meeting for 10 a.m., on Saturday, April 5.
