Because the cost of everything is going up, Tuscola Township is going to have to take action to keep pace with the additional expenses.

During Monday's meeting, the board discussed the need to go for a millage.

With the price of everything increasing, road construction and maintenance has increased significantly also.

It was noted the townships current funding level is no longer sufficient to keep up with roadway needs.

That makes it necessary for the board to go for a millage issue for roads during the August election.

Doing a ballot issue, would give township residents an opportunity to decide if they want to support funding to do road improvements or to maintain the current levels.

Just keeping the current level of funding for roads could result in gradual deterioration of some roads.

Also, the board appointed Matt Vasicek and Carol Smith to the planning commission.
