In Huron County Circuit Court, Tyree Donnell Washington appeared for arraignment before Judge Prill.
Washington, represented by attorney Michael Murawski , entered a plea agreement, pleading guilty to possession of cocaine and one count of resisting and obstructing a police officer. The prosecution, represented by Timothy J. Rutkowski , agreed to dismiss a second resisting and obstructing charge and had no objection to sentencing under MCL 333.7411 for the cocaine charge.
The charges stem from an incident on or about May 2, 2026, in Bingham Township. Washington admitted possessing cocaine, confirmed by a drug test, and acknowledged resisting an officer, while the officer was performing his duties.
Judge Prill accepted the plea for resisting and obstructing and took the cocaine possession plea under advisement. Sentencing is scheduled for August 24, 2026, at 9:00 AM.
Regarding bond, Washington had been lodged for 45 days. His defense requested a personal recognizance bond, citing his employment and lack of prior court absences.
The court modified the bond to $5000 personal recognizance. Upon release, he must report to Adult Probation.
