Hare Krishna Patnaik Charged With Operating While Intoxicated 2nd Offense

In Huron County District Court, Judge Ferris presided over the arraignment of in the case of Hare Krishna Patnaik. Mr. Patnaik faces charges of operating while intoxicated, second offense, and failure to stop at the scene of a property damage accident. Both charges are misdemeanors.
For the operating while intoxicated charge, potential penalties include a fine between $200 and $1,000, five days to one year in jail, and 30 to 90 days of community service. The failure to stop charge carries a penalty of up to 90 days in jail and/or a $100 fine.
Mr. Patnaik entered a plea of not guilty to both counts. Attorney Dallas Rooney represented him for the arraignment, and Mr. Patnaik is expected to retain further counsel.
Key dates in the case include July 6th, 2026, as the deadline for the prosecutor to provide a plea offer form and for discovery to be exchanged. A plea cutoff hearing is scheduled for July 30th, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., which Mr. Patnaik must attend in person.
The interim bond was continued at $4,500, 10%. Bond conditions include prohibitions against possessing or consuming alcohol or controlled substances, being in establishments where alcohol is sold or served, or at gatherings where alcohol or controlled substances are used. Mr. Patnaik must also comply with pretrial services recommendations for random drug and alcohol testing, which may include a Soberlink or SCRAM monitor.
