Even before today's volatile political climate, some municipalities have a difficult time finding those who want to hold a governmental position.

Because of that, some have served for several years in a municipal position because no one else would.

That lack of interest has the Columbiaville Village Council making changes to reduce the members of the council from six to four, but there are certain steps that have to be done.

One of them is conducting a public hearing on that issue.

That hearing is schedule for 5 p.m., on Aug. 11 at the Municipal Building located at 4605 Pine St.

Copies of the proposed ordinance are available for viewing at the Village Hall, and written comments can be mailed to the Columbiaville Village Clerk at 4605 Pine St., Columbiaville, MI 48421.
