A plethora of proposed recall petitions and resignations has decimated one Sanilac County township.
The Watertown Township Board of Trustees appointed Zach Heifner as supervisor on July 28, which is just days before the Tuesday, Aug. 4 election.
Heifner was appointed because he filed to be a write-in candidate for the open position, and was the only person interested.
There could be a major upheaval in those who serve Watertown Township.
Proposed recalls were approved the county's election commission for Supervisor Richard Henderson, Clerk Tammy Ross, Trustee Jason Radloff, and Treasurer Sheila Coats.
Henderson resigned.
The wording on the recalls for each listed they should be recalled for failure to perform the duties of their office.
Trustee Jim Hacker is the only board member who has not had a proposed recall filed against him - so far.
