During Tuesday's election, voters in Tuscola County passed all of the county-wide ballot proposals except one.

The request regarding the Tuscola County Road Commission was the most discussed and controversial issue during the election.

The proposal to transfer the powers, duties, and functions of the elected Tuscola County Road Commission Board to the Tuscola County Board of Commissioners failed in a vote of 10,316 no votes to 3,181 yes votes.

The proposal to levy .45 of a mill to fund the county's emergency services dispatch center for four years passed with 8,941 yes votes to 4,677 no votes.

Funding from that millage will be used on central dispatch facilities, equipment, personnel, maintenance, and operations to continue the twenty-four hour public-safety communication services to send first responders to emergencies.

The millage will generate about $1,078,785 the first year.

The request to renew .6316 mills for six years to fund mosquito abatement operations passed with 10,294 yes votes to 3,382 no votes.

The millage will generate about $1,514,134 the first year.
