The Historical Society of Caseville held its annual members meeting Oct. 16 at the museum, where officers and board members were elected and upcoming events reviewed.
President Dave Vizard, Vice President Ray Quiel, Treasurer Angela Miller, and Secretary Carole Shereda were re-elected to one-year terms. Board members elected to three-year terms include Rich Bass, Janet Ekel, Mary Taylor, and Matt Filipovitch.
Members also approved the 2026 event schedule, which includes Shanty Days on Feb. 14, an Ice Cream Social on May 24, the Ladies Luncheon on June 10, a Denim and Diamonds/Dolly Parton Exhibit July 24-26, the Cheeseburger Museum Aug. 14-23, the Classic Car & Tractor Show Sept. 19, All Museum Weekend Sept. 26-27, the Witches Walk/Nightmare on Prospect Street Oct. 24, and the Fall Feast and Auction Nov. 8.
During the meeting, Roxy Bass previewed this year's "Nightmare on Prospect Street," the society's Halloween transformation of the museum for the Caseville Chamber of Commerce's annual Witch Walk. Members also discussed the success of the Sept. 20 Caseville Classic Car, Truck & Tractor Show, which drew record attendance.
Trustee Cathy Snider provided an update on the society's new computer system, and members approved a motion to use AVS Tech Team for daily backups. Snider also announced that members may participate in meetings remotely via Zoom from November through March by registering via email before each session.
Museum reports noted 77 visitors since the last meeting and several new donations. Genealogy volunteer Barb Eimers continues to assist visitors the first Thursday of each month.
The next Historical Society meeting will be held at 10 a.m. on Nov. 20. All meetings are open to the public.
