Some of the other board members talked about how addiction affected them, from losing a parent to an addiction to having achild that has an addiction. The guest speakers for the event came from Emerge Ministries in Atlanta, Georgia. Mick Centofanti talked about how he was addicted as a teenager after his parents got a divorce

Eventually, Centofanti was able to break the addictions to heroin and other drugs after a religious experience. He nearly lost his life due to severe liver damage. Also speaking at the lauch event was Jeff Chandler. He isn't an addict, but Jeff and his wife wanted to help those in need of help

Chandler also explained that even though Emerge is based in Atlanta, they can help people in other areas like Jacksonville, Florida

The event ended with a candlelight vigil to remember those that may have been lost to addiction or currently affected by an addiction.
