The Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Pigeon River Mennonite Church, with Rev. Alvin Yoder, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Youth for Christ, Pigeon River Mennonite Church, or the Bread Basket. VISITATION AT PIGEON RIVER MENNONITE CHURCH: Tuesday, September 11 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 12 2:00 – 9:00 p.m. Thursday, September 13 10:00 a.m. until the service at 11 a.m.
In addition to her husband, Timothy R. "Wiffle" Maust, she is survived by two children, Cory (fiancée Nicole Litwiller) Maust of Middlebury, Indiana and Carlene Maust of Bay Port; her father, Wayne Schember of Pigeon; brothers, Mike Schember of Phoenix, Arizona and Todd (Gail) Schember of Elkton; nieces and nephews, Ryan, Josh, Isabella, Rebecca, Justin, Jenny, Seth, Sarah, Casey, Shelby, Vicki, and Zach; and in-laws, Martha (Larry) Brown of Michigan City, Indiana, Becky (Paul Sparrell) Maust of Greensboro, North Carolina, Redford (Liz) Maust of Granger, Indiana, and Larry Maust of Sarasota, Florida. She was preceded in death by her mother, Joann Schember and in-laws, Edgar and Pauline Maust.
Stephanie A. Maust, age 51 of Bay Port, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2012 at home with her family at her side. Born in Fort Rucker, Alabama on June 18, 1961, she was the daughter of Wayne E. and Joann M. (Miller) Schember. Following her 1979 graduation from Laker High School, Stephanie graduated from Baker Business College with an Associate's Degree. On July 21, 1984, she was united in marriage to Timothy R. Maust at Cross Lutheran Church in Pigeon. Stephanie's first job was at Executive Business Systems in Flint. She later worked for Bluewater Thumb Youth for Christ and McCormick Motors, and was a paraprofessional for 13½ years for OwenGage Public Schools. Stephanie loved spending time with her family and attending all sporting events with her children or watching them on television. She enjoyed camping, shopping, and sightseeing throughout the Thumb. She was a member of Pigeon River Mennonite Church. She was blessed by her church family and being a part of her church, and was able to attend services this past week.
