Funeral Information

Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rapson with burial at Verona Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and 1 to 8 p.m. on Monday at the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the mass Tuesday at the church. There will be a scripture service at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the family discretionary fund

Cindy is survived by her husband, Carl Rader of Bad Axe; daughter, Alissa and son-in-law, Evan Klee of Grand Rapids; son, Timothy Rader and significant other, Lindsay Yaroch of Bad Axe; parents, Gene and Marilynne Weaver of Dearborn Heights; brothers, Jeff (Lori) Weaver of Fishers, Ind., Mike (Julie) Weaver of Elkhart, Ind. and Tom (Fatima) Weaver of Woodhaven; sisters, Amy Weaver of Bad Axe and Rebecca (Kenny) Diaz of East Rutherford, N.J.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ralph and Janet Sarnowski of Sault Ste. Marie, Ron and Kay McCrea of Bad Axe and Warren and Connie Reithel of Sebewaing; 28 loving nieces and nephews; and many loving cousins, aunts, uncles and great friends. Cindy was predeceased by her daughter, Katy Jane Rader; in-laws, Percy and Lila Rader; and niece, Tracy McCrea.

Biography

Cynthia (Cindy) Weaver Rader, 56, of Bad Axe, passed away from complications due to her battle with leukemia, on Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012, at the University of Michigan Mott Children and Women’s Hospital. Her family was by her side. Cindy was born Jan. 17, 1956, in Pittsburgh, Penn., and was a graduate of Bad Axe High School, class of 1974. She also attended Central Michigan University. Cindy formerly worked at the Palm Beach Post, Intermediate School District office, the Huron Daily Tribune, Head Start, the Learning Center and as a baby sitter. She participated in many activities and hobbies, including knitting, sewing, cooking/baking and reading. She was a 4-H leader and loved spending time with family and friends, her pets, Cabin Confections, spending time at the family cottage on Lake Erie and attending the annual Hungarian Festival. Cindy lived an exemplary life and the life she wanted. She enjoyed being healthy and active with Yochilates, walking and yoga.
