June is survived by a son; Mark Ackerman of Bad Axe, two daughters; Pam (Jimmy) Wieske of Hope, and Traci Manning of Chesterfield, eight brothers; Wayne (Helen) Mellendorf of Cass City, Dale (Betsy) Mellendorf of Cass City, Bruce (Beverly) Mellendorf of Fairgrove, Clare (Ruth Ann) Mellendorf of Cass City, Joseph (Sue) Mellendorf of Caro, Arthur (Romelle) Mellendorf of Missouri, Gary (Linda) Mellendorf of Cass City and Glen Mellendorf of Cass City, two Grandchildren; Justin Ackerman of Ubly and Jessica Manning of Chesterfield, one sister; Ruth (John) Jaworski of Owendale, and her special friends; Donna May, Bonnie and Ray. She was also preceded in death by her sister and brother in-law; Janet (Daniel) Hartz.
June Iris Ackerman, 74, resident of Ubly (Bingham Township) passed away surrounded by family after a long illness; Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at Select Specialty Hospital in Saginaw, Michigan June was born November 20, 1938 in Owendale, Mi., to Stanley and Erma (Hartwick) Mellendorf. June was united in marriage January 21, 1961 to Donald Ackerman at the First Presbyterian Church of Ubly. He preceded his wife in death on October 16, 2003. June was a graduate of the Owendale-Gagetown High School, class of 1956. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bad Axe. June was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the Red Wings, Tigers, tennis and golf. She loved watching Nascar and especially Jeff Gordon. June also loved all animals but was most fond of her four cats; Misty, Tess, Tiger and Kiva. June will be greatly missed by family and friends. We know she will be smiling down on us from heaven as her faith in the Holy Trinity carries her into her next life.
