Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 7, 2013, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Port Hope, MI. The Rev. Greg Eilers will officiate. Burial will take place in New River Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 6, 2013 at MacAlpine – Gage Chapel in Kinde. Rose is survived by 9 children, James Perdue of Kinde, Donald (Michelle) Perdue of Bach, Margaret Perdue of Hazel Park, Jennifer (Dan) Czarnik of New Baltimore, Susan Perdue of Port Hope, Mary (Craig) West of Lithoplis, OH, Ann (Brad) Buss of Bad Axe, Lora (Mike) Collier of Melvin and Melissa (Steve) Case of Shelby Twp; 14 grandchildren, Stephanie, Jackie, Amy, Christa, Carl, Donny, Tabatha, Meagan, Abby, Ashley, David, Eli, Matthew and Andrew; 8 great-grandchildren, Sabrina, Tyrese, Tristian, Makayla, Ava, Nolan, Christopher and Danielle; brothers, Erwin Schave of Port Hope and Oscar (Travadon) Schave of Port Hope; sisters, Olga Frazer and Virginia (Bill) Irwin of Port Huron; sister in-law, Helen Schultz of Port Hope She was preceded in death by a son, Edward Perdue; a son in-law, John Medozzi; brother, Adolph Schave and sisters, Inez Johnson, Louise McAuley and Ruby Tabaczynski; brothers in-law, Cecil, Jim and Edward Perdue; sisters in-law, Myrtle Schave,Helen Schave, Irene Forbing and Charlotte Sherman.
Rosetta E. Perdue, 85, resident of Kinde, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Meadow Lane, Bad Axe. She was born January 8, 1928 in Port Hope to the late Adolph and Alice (Sternberg) Schewe. Rosetta was united in marriage to Walter Perdue on June 14, 1952 in Ohio. He preceded her in death on May 26, 1999. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Port Hope where she was also baptized as a child. Rose like spending time with her children and grandchildren, gardening, canning and going for walks. She enjoyed board games (was very good at Scrabble) crossword puzzles and cards, reading her Bible and attending church. She especially enjoyed St. John’s Christmas Eve Service. She will be remembered for her laugh and kindness. Rose was a great cook, mother, grandmother and friend.
