A funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday, December 10, at St. Frances Borgia Catholic Church, Pigeon with burial in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, Bad Axe. Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice and words of condolence may be shared at www.cfcelkton.com.

Family of the Deceased

Surviving are three children, William (Dee) McLellan of Pigeon, Sharon Merriman of Minden, NB and Tricia (Tim) Tate of Pigeon; five grandchildren, Bill McLellan, Jr, Kelly (Jeff) Sturm, Casey McLellan, Allison (Joseph) Victoria and Justin Tate and seven great grandchildren, Peyton, Reese, Evan, Carson, Xander, Indika and Keo. Preceding her in death were her husband A. D. McLellan on January 19, 1983; her son, Joseph in 1955 and six siblings, John Pronek, Joseph Piorunek, Emily Filary, Frances Brandon, Mary Dreffs and Edna Pluto.

Biography

Ann S. McLellan age 94, of Pigeon, died early Saturday morning, December 7, at Courtney Manor, Bad Axe. She was born June 8, 1919 in Chicago to the late Michael and Anna (Pawlus) Piorunek. They moved to Huron County when she was in her youth. She met her future husband, A. D. McLellan while living in Bad Axe. They married February 15, 1943 in Greenville, TX while he was in the Army and moved to Pigeon in June of 1956. Ann worked as a clerk at Eicher’s Cleaner, Pigeon for many years, retiring in 1994. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Our Lady of Perpetual Hope Parish, Pigeon and enjoyed sewing clothes for herself and others, including doll clothes for the grandchildren. Ann also enjoyed making crafts and gardening. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
