Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 11:00 a.m. December 13, 2013 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Bad Axe, MI with Rev. Kenneth Lueke officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 12 in The Mac Chapel at MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe, MI and Friday at 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Bad Axe, MI. She is survived by her children, Gary L. (Kathleen) Shedd of Harbor Beach, Thomas A. Shedd of Bad Axe,MI Christine A. (Reed) Elliott of Las Cruces, New Mexico; 6 grandchildren, Gary L. Shedd, Jr. and special friend Megan Bechler, Stephanie (Chad) Redburn, Ryan and Amanda Shedd, Kimberly (Steven) Drexler and Reed (Melissa) Elliott, Jr; 8 great-grandchildren, Paytan and Brenden Shedd, Aidan and Brooklyn Redburn, Gabriel Galvan, Emma and Elizabeth Drexler, Blaine Bechler; one sister, Delores (Bob) Schell of Dayton, Ohio. She was preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Zacharek; two sisters, Virginia Streicher and Margaret Ruge; one brother in-law, Laverle Streicher.

Biography

Evelyn Marie Shedd, 88, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Lakeview Extended Care in Harbor Beach, MI while under the compassionate care of Heartland Hospice. She was born June 4, 1925 in Middle Inlet, Wisconsin to the late Joseph J. and Pauline (Melton) Zacharek. On August 7, 1948 she united in marriage to Leonard Shedd at St. John Lutheran Church in Wayne, Michigan. He preceded her in death May 5, 2008. Evelyn was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Bad Axe. She enjoyed painting with water colors, golfing, playing bridge, dancing, crocheting, cross stitching and sewing clothes for herself. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
