Funeral Information

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, December 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church – St. Hubert Parish in Bad Axe. Friends may call at the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe on Sunday form 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. or Monday at the church from10:00 a.m. to the time of service at 11:00 a.m. A scripture service will be offered on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

She is survived by: 2 daughters – Beatrice Flannery and her special friend Alfred Beard of Clinton Township. Pauline Polega of Port Austin. 4 sons - Bruce (Donna) Shaw of Fort Pierce, FL. Glen (Cindy) Shaw of Elkton Dave (Linda) Shaw of Elkton Paul Shaw of Caseville. 1 sister - Molly Depcinski of Bad Axe 25 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, a special niece Nancy Filion, a special granddaughter Kelly Deciechi, several other nieces and nephews. Predeceased by: 8 brothers – Stanley, John, Adam, Joe, Tony, August, Syl, and Eugene Abraham. 4 sisters – Elizabeth Zurack, Rose Pawlowski, Frances Heleski, and Margaret Allen. 2 sons-in-law – Richard Flannery and Frank Polega. 1 granddaughter – Sharon Kuhn.

Biography

Rita C. Shaw of Elkton Passed away at the age of 93 on Friday, December 27, 2013 at Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe. She was Born February 19, 1920 in Parisville, MI daughter of August and Otylia (Uller) Abraham. She married Joseph Langenburg on March 2, 1941 in Argyle, MI He preceded her in death on August 15, 1966. She married George Shaw on February 14, 1975. He preceded her in death on June 29, 2009. Rita was a member of St. Felix Catholic Church in Pi8nnebog. She enjoyed gardening, canning, crocheting, dancing, and wintering in Florida. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren as well as the rest of her loving family and many friends.
