Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Kinde, Michigan. Visitation will be from 1:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday with rosary at 7:00p.m. and on Saturday from 11:30a.m. and 12:30 p.m. at Knoblock Funeral Home, 5720 N Van Dyke Road, Kinde, Michigan. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery on Verona Road in Kinde, Michigan with a luncheon to follow.
Surviving are his Daughter, Grace (Scott) Lallmann of Warren, MI; Daughter, Victoria (Mark) Thuemmel of Sterling Heights, MI; Son, Dean (Christine) Young of Ashburn, VA; Daughter, Laura Young of Portland, MI; Son, Matthew (Preeyanuj) Young, of Rochester Hills, MI; Daughter, Martha (Joel) Raines, of Campobello, SC; Son, Donald (Monica) Young, of Sharpsburg, GA, and Son, Peter Jay (Margaret) Young, stationed in Okinawa, Japan; and twenty-five grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers: Raymond (Kathy) Young of Sterling Heights, and Nelson (Gail) Young of Bad Axe. He was preceded in death by his half- sister, Anna Marie Marsh in 1988.
Jay Arthur Young, 70, died unexpectedly in his home in Capac, Michigan on September 2, 2014. He was born February 11, 1944 in Detroit , the son of the Harold and Hadie (Brade) Young. He was a 1962 graduate for North Huron High School and, after high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era and was stationed in Germany. After he was discharged from the Army he married his high school sweetheart, Bernadette (Gorkowski) Young on June 25, 1966. She preceded him in death on September 19th, 2003. In 1968 Jay and Bernadette bought a home in Washington Township, Michigan and it was there that they raised 8 children. He worked for Ford Motor Company in their Sterling Heights plant for over 30 years. In 1995, after all the children left home, they bought a home in Capac, Michigan where they planned to live out their retirement. He was an Active member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Capac, Michigan. In the past years, he enjoyed hunting with his brothers and loved spending time with his family and friends.
