Biography

Edward Louis Detgen, 89, of Bad Axe passed away October 9, 2014 due to complications from pneumonia. He was born on February 19, 1925 in Port Hope. Ed married Hilda on June 29 1946 at Grindstone City Methodist Church. He was a hard-working, good hearted, upstanding gentleman. He was a welder in his early years until farming became the bread and butter for his family. Ed planted roots on the “farm on the bend of the road” that brought children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, friends and strangers coming back for years. He was loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed. We picture him passing to the other side and saying “well I’ll be darned!”
