Funeral Information

Services will be held on Saturday December 6, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Bad Axe First United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Phil Tousley, pastor. Burial will be in Colfax Cemetery. Friends may call at the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe Friday December 5, 2014 from 1:00 – 8:00 pm or Saturday at the church from 10:00 am until the service time at 11:00 am. Memorials may be offered to the First United Methodist Church or to Huron Medical Care Facility Garden Fund. Family of the Deceased

Georgina is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Lesa and Bernard Gusa of Filion, Grandchildren Sheila (Daniel) Wells of Wickenburg, AZ, Michelle Klemmer of Bad Axe, Robert (Suzi) Klemmer of Bad Axe and Nicole (Gregory) Turner of Hemlock, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Georgina is also survived by her two sisters, Edna Weaver of Bad Axe and Gertrude Schenk of Bad Axe. Also, loving nieces and nephews who would visit her often. Georgina was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Robert, on December 7, 1995. A daughter Linda Klemmer, son-in-law Lawrence Klemmer, brother and sister-in-laws Harry Kuhn, Frank Weaver, Joseph Schenk, Howard and Elizabeth (Running) Hall, William and Helen Running, and Owen and Beryl (Running) Brown.

Biography

Georgina Lillian (Toner) Running, age 90, of Bad Axe, passed away on Wednesday December 3, 2014 at the Huron Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe. She was the youngest of three daughters born to William and Lula (Hall) Toner on January 23rd, 1924. The family lived in the Kinde area. The Toner girls attended several of the local country schools, making many friends along the way. Georgina married Robert Ernest Running on February 21st, 1942 in Ubly. The couple eventually settled on a piece of land near Bad Axe where they worked tirelessly to provide a meaningful and comfortable life for their family. Georgina was a woman of strong faith. As a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bad Axe, she was involved in many church activities throughout the years. Georgina loved music and dancing. She was a long time member of local dance clubs. She was blessed with a talent for quilting and needlework. She spent many hours with a needle and thread in hand.
