Funeral Information

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 11 am. at Good Shepard Parish-St. Columbkille Catholic Church of Sheridan Corner. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe on Wednesday August 5, 2015 from 2-8 pm. or Thursday at the church from 10 am. until the service time at 11 am. A scripture service will be offered on Wednesday at 7 pm. at the funeral home. Biography

Joseph Sweeney, 79, of Bad Axe (formerly of Elkton) passed away Monday, August 3, 2015 with his family by his side. Joseph was born August 16, 1935 to the late Malcolm and Mary (McIntosh) Sweeney. He was united in marriage to Hilda Smith on November 7, 1959. Joe farmed all his life, retiring in 1998. He was a member of Owendale Lions Club, Popple Trail Blazers, Knights of Columbus and Corn Growers Association.
