He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Becky. He is also survived by two sons: James (Rebecca) Elzinga and Dale Elzinga, one daughter Anne Elzinga, one brother Jacob (Doris) Elzinga, two grandsons: John Elzinga and Toney Barnes, two great grandsons: Lucas and Matthew. One step-son Donald Welch. Several step grandchildren, and tw step great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son Stephen Elzinga and step-son Jay Welch.
Portage native, Allen D. Elzinga, age 78, currently of Harbor Beach, went to be with the Lord, December 10, 2015. He was born on February 22, 1937, to the late Jacob and Ida Elzinga. Allen was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed all of the outdoors.
