Loretta Lucille (Nicholson) Blakely, age 94, passed away on December 16, 2015, at The Carriage House of Bay City. Lucille was born on September 20, 1921, in Lake Odessa, Michigan, daughter of the late Phoebe and Leon Nicholson. Lucille married the late Rev. Harold Blakely on February 2, 1941, in Wauseon, Ohio. They met at church where Harold taught her Sunday school class. Lucille graduated from Woodland High School in 1940. She was truly a minister's wife and partner, working with her husband for over 40 years, serving parishes in Ogden Center, Brown City, Kilmanaugh, and Hillman/Spratt. Lucille enjoyed preparing dishes for many church gatherings, family dinners, and Sunday school picnics. She welcomed all to our home. Lucille enjoyed singing, playing the piano, and the out of doors. She loved all animals, especially her beloved poodle, Trina. Her swing of a bat from a very young age gave her the nickname, "Tommy."
