Vesta is survived by: 1 Daughter-Judith Gomoluch of Holt, MI. 1 Son-Jeffrey (Terry) Jurgess of Harbor Beach, MI. 10 Grandchildren : Jeremy Jurgess, Joshua Jurgess, Jared Jurgess, Lesa Scheirer, Michael Jurgess, Patty Wolschleger, Billy Jurgess, John Jurgess, Jason Jurgess and James Jurgess. 14 Great-grandchildren. 8 Great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by: Son-William Jurgess ; Son-in-law-Delwin Gomoluch. Sisters : Gladys (Durrel) Bender, Claribelle (Russell) Brown, Eletha (Durrell)Stokan, Ardis (Lex) Tetreau. Brothers: Walter (Beverly) Reinke, Bill (Betty) Reinke.

Biography

Vesta Jurgess, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2015. Vesta was born on February 16, 1924, in Harbor Beach, daughter of the late Calvin and Myrtle (Sturks) Reinke. She married Willard Jurgess on February 23, 1943 in Detroit. They then moved to Bad Axe, where they began farming in Sigel Township. He preceded her in death in 1998. Vesta was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Bad Axe. She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards, cooking, baking, quilting and making blankets. She made large boxes of cookies for family and friends at Christmas time.
