Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 24, at the Owendale Community in Christ Church with interment in Grant Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 PM Tuesday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton and at the church after 10 AM Wednesday. Surviving are four children, Jim (Eunice) Andrews of Peoria, IL, Roger (Lynn) Andrews of Harlingen, TX, Linda (Joe) Warack of Grant Twp. and Susan Andrews of Kansas City, MO; five grandchildren; Shelley, Jay, Michael, Steven and Lisa; six great grandchildren; Nicholas, Travis, Jimmy, Lilly, Spencer, Grace, Nicole and Brandon; sister-in-law Genevie Abbe and brother, Glen (Hazel) Abbe and many beloved nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, Elmer; a grandson, Adam Warack; brothers, John and Jake Abbe; sister, Velma Severn and brother-in-law, Clarence Severn.

Biography

Iva M. Andrews, age 91, of Grant Twp. died Thursday morning, February 18, at her home while under hospice care. He was born December 17, 1924 at the home of her parents, the late Ezra and Hattie (Diebel) Abbe in Oliver Twp. and grew up on a farm in Oliver Twp. On January 1, 1942, she was united in marriage to Elmer Andrews at her parent’s home in Oliver Twp. They made the home on a farm in Grant Twp. where they raised their family. Iva was a farm wife all her life, but was also employed as an aide at the Huron County Medical Care Facility for over 10 years retiring in 1987. She was a very active member of the Owendale Community in Christ. She and Elmer loved all high school sports and was given “Friend of Youth Award” from the Owen-Gage Schools. She loved her flowers and enjoyed quilting, crocheting and knitting. She made hundreds of slippers for Clothe-A-Child over the years.
