Funeral services for Marlene will be held at 7 pm on Thursday, September 8th at the MacAlpine Gage Chapel in Kinde with Pastor Bob Tibbits officiating. Visitation will be 1 pm until time of service. Marlene is survived by her husband of 57 years, Arthur Tibbits of Kinde; daughter: Karen (Larry) Clark of Filion; sons: Mike (Donna) Tibbits of Clinton Township, Dave (special friend, Jenn) Tibbits of Pigeon, Don (Laura) Tibbits of Pigeon, Ed (Tricia) Tibbits of Kinde and Bill (Tina) Tibbits of Dryden; step daughter, Diane (Gary) Clark of Caro; step son, Dale Tibbits of Vassar; 25 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; sisters: Norma (Jerry) Osbourne of Port Austin, and Judy (Walt) Miller of Port Austin; brother: Roger (Theresa) Elliott of Port Austin; and her beloved pet, Gizmo. She was preceded in death by her brother, Bob Elliott and her pet, Taz.

Biography

Marlene Ann Tibbits, 75, of Hume Township, passed away on September 5, 2016 at McLaren Hospital in Port Huron. She was born on December 23, 1940 in Port Austin Township to the late Henry and Leona (Ahearn) Elliott. On December 27, 1958, she married Arthur “Art” Tibbits at the Kinde Presbyterian Church. Marlene was a wonderful, kind, loving mother with a heart of gold. She took everyone in, a mother or “Gram” to everyone. She will be greatly missed by all. She loved to travel and selling her wood crafts at craft shows, bowling in leagues at Biff’s Bowling Bar, enjoyed working in her flower beds. Marlene also enjoyed playing volleyball, softball, racing snowmobiles and racing cars at Owendale Speedway.
