Per Judson’s wishes, cremation has taken place at Sunset Hills Crematory in Flint, Michigan. A memorial service will be 10 am on Thursday, October 13th at the MacAlpine Mac Chapel in Bad Axe with Rev. William O’Nan officiating. Family and friends can gather at the funeral home at 9 am. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Bad Axe. Memorials may be offered to the Bad Axe Public Library. Condolences can be shared at www.macalpinefuneralhome.com

Jud is survived by his parents, Terrence and Noreen McDonnell of Bad Axe; brother: Terence McDonnell and his wife, Yun, of Lansing; aunts: Mary Riordan of Indianapolis, Carolyn McVey of Bad Axe, and Patricia McDonnell of White Lake, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister, Amy Nora McDonnell.

Biography

Judson G. McDonnell, 55, of Bad Axe, formerly of Howell, passed away on October 5, 2016 from injuries from an automobile accident. Jud was born on October 21, 1960 in Washington D.C. to Terrence and Noreen (McVey) McDonnell. Judson spent his early years in Maryland and Indiana before moving to Bad Axe. He was a 1978 graduate from Bad Axe High School. Jud continued his education, earning Bachelors in Engineering, and a Masters in Engineering from Michigan State University. He traveled to England and obtained his Masters in Japanese. Judson worked as an electrical engineer for the automotive industry. His work led him to live in Japan for one year and to Germany for half a year. Judson was an avid reader and loved to travel.
