Funeral Information

Funeral Services for Esther will be Monday, October 10, 2016 at 1 pm, at St. John Lutheran Church of Port Hope, with Rev. David Dodge officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeview Cemetery. Visitation for Esther will be on Monday at the church, beginning at 10 am until time of services at 1 pm. Memorials may be given to St. John Lutheran Church, or the donors choice. Family of the Deceased

Esther is survived by her children: Gary Zick of Caro, Gail Wertz and her husband Gary of Traverse City, Ronald Zick and his wife Janet of Charlotte, NC, and Peggy Beutel and her husband Jim of Pinconning. 5 grandchildren: Eric, Randy, Chad, Jasmine & Brian, 8 great grandchildren, her brother Arnold Steinbis of Bad Axe, and her special cousin/sister: Audrey Bolton of Chesterfield. She was preceded in death by four brothers: Harold, Paul, Theodore and Erhardt Steinbis.

Biography

ESTHER G. ZICK, age 93 of Port Hope, passed away Friday, October 7, 2016 at Bay Valley Assisted Living Center in Bay City. She was born on February 9, 1923 in Port Hope to the late Herman and Hedwig (Schultz) Steinbis. Her and Edwin Zick were united in marriage on April 10, 1948 in Port Hope. He preceded her in death on February 8, 2009. Esther worked with Edwin on the family farm. During her later years, her and Edwin would winter in Zephryhills, Florida.She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Port Hope, the Sweet 16 Euchre Club, and the Port Hope Reitrees. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening, working on puzzles, playing bingo, and fishing.
