A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Parish- St. John Catholic Church in Ubly. Officiating will be Fr. Charlie Hammond, pastor. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Parisville. Friends may call at the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe on Wednesday from 2-7 p.m. or Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. until the service time at 11 a.m. A scripture service will be offered at the funeral home on Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. Memorials may be offered to Meadow Lane Assisted Living in Bad Axe or to Heartland Hospice in Bad Axe. Mary (Arnie) Eggert of Port Hope, MI. 21 Grandchildren 39 Great-grandchildren 1 Great-great-grandson Predeceased by: 1 Daughter- Carol Jean Pokora. 1 Son-in-law- Gary Bismack. 2 Sisters-Elizabeth Cowie and Margaret Bollaert. 7 Brothers-Leonard, William, John, Henry, Frank, Raymond and Edward Elandt.
Dorothy Pokora, age 95 of Bad Axe, formerly of Ubly, passed away on Saturday October 29, 2016. Dorothy was born on May 24, 1921 in Rapson, daughter of the late Henry and Matilda (Uller) Eland. She married Bernard Pokora on October 5, 1946 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rapson. He preceded her in death on November 15, 1974.
