Funeral Information

Mass of Christian burial will be on Wednesday, November 9th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Port Austin, MI - with Fr. Craig Carolan officiating. Burial will take place St. Michael’s Cemetery in Port Austin, MI. Visitation will be 2-8 pm on Tuesday, November 8th at the MacAlpine Gage Chapel in Kinde, MI with a Scripture service at 7 pm. Visitation will also be at the church on Wednesday from 10 am until time of service. Memorials may be offered to the Family Discretionary Fund. He is survived by two sons, Kenneth and Gary (Kathy) Stockoski of Port Austin, MI; a daughter, Karen Stockoski of the Detroit area; a grandson, Kyle Herrington; two granddaughters, Dawna (James)Bemis, Kristi (Steve) Niemiec, four great grandchildren and a step great grandchild; Son-in-law, Dave Kozlowski; two sisters, Lillian (Roy) Wills, and Josephine Korleski, many nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews; and many cousins, as well as his best friend, Robert Boomer. He was preceded in death by: his wife Elizabeth; a daughter, Linda Kozlowski; his brothers, Irvin (Dorothy) Stockoski, Leonard (Rita) Stockoski, sisters, Regina (Edward) Fisher, Emma (Bill) Yaroch, Christine (Stubby) Wolfe, Helen (Steve) Lapka, Mary (James) Palmer, brother-in-law, Martin Korleski.

Biography

Raymond Stockoski , 92 of Port Austin, MI passed away peacefully on November 5, 2016 at the Huron Medical Center in Bad Axe, Michigan. He was born in Bad Axe, MI on July 10, 1924 to the late Edward and Frances (Jimkoski) Stockoski. He married Elizabeth Rice on November 9, 1946. Raymond was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church of Port Austin, MI. He attended Ford School in Kinde, MI. He held numerous jobs and retired from St. Michael’s School in Port Austin where he did maintenance. Raymond enjoyed Polka music and loved to dance. He also enjoyed fishing as well as gardening, where he loved the many different kinds of flowers.
