Services will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 11 am at the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe. Officiating will be Pastor Mike Beeler, of Faith Gospel Tabernacle. Burial in Colfax Cemetery. Friends may call at the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 from 1-7 pm or Thursday from 10 am until the service time at 11 am. Dr. Kube is survived by: His wife of 55 years-Barbara L. (Gross) Kube of Bad Axe. Daughter-Kimberly K. (Kube) Herrington of Bad Axe. Son-Brian J. Kube and his wife Kelly J. of Bad Axe. 6 Grandchildren-Abigail (Nicholas) Gucwa of Bad Axe, Aaron Herrington of Bad Axe, Rebecca Herrington of Bad Axe, Sarah Herrington of Caro, Baron Kube of Bad Axe, Katelyn Kube of Bad Axe. 3 Great-grandchildren-Samantha Gucwa of Bad Axe, Bethany Gucwa of Bad Axe and Madison Hewens of Harbor Beach. 1 Brother-Llewellyn Kube of Goose Lake, Iowa. 1 Sister-Adele Kroeger of Clinton, Iowa. He is also survived by many Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins. Dr. Kube was preceded in death by: Brother-Fredrick A. Kube. Sister-Elsabea (Kube) Dierks. Brother in Laws Peter Kroeger and Rev. Roger Dierks. and Several aunts and uncles.

Biography

Dr. Kenneth S. Kube, age 81, of Bad Axe, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the Huron County Medical Care Facility. He was born on February 12, 1935, in Clinton, Iowa, son of the late Fredrick E. and Adele M. (Miller) Kube. He graduated from high school in 1953 and received his BA degree at the University of Iowa in 1957. He received his Medical Degree at the University of Iowa, School of Medicine in 1960. He interned at Hurley Hospital in Flint from 1960-1961. He finished his residency in Internal Medicine at both Hurley and the University of Michigan from 1961-1964. He joined the United States Air Force in 1964 and Served as Captain at the England Air Force Base in Alexandria, LA., where he was Chief of Medicine, Allergy and Radiology. He practiced Internal Medicine in Bad Axe from July of 1966 until his retirement in December of 2000. He was the first doctor in the area to use Cardiac Defibrillation which was at the Hubbard Hospital. Doc farmed for many years as well. He had a great love of the land and enjoyed being outdoors.
