A visitation and viewing will be at Meyersieck-Buessema Funeral Home Friday December 16, 2016 from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 2:30 at Country Gardens. A memorial concert will be announced and held at a later date. Arrangements by Carman Funeral home.
He is survived by a daughter Kimberly A. (James) Ezzell of Florida, a sister Ruth Walker, a nephew Jim McGinity, Ron Walker, Gary Walker, Steve Miller, Dave Miller and David Galahger nices Mary McGinity, Kelly Jagers and Ellen Pye and Janice Walker, Ruthann Miller his bandmates of the Bill Denbrock Big Band.
Milan Monroe Miller age 90 of Bay Port died December 9, 2016. He was born in Flint on Sept. 27, 1926 to William and Blanche Miller. Miles graduated from Flint Central High School and received his Bachelor Degree from Central Michigan University. He served in the United Stated Army and played trumpet in the Army band. He married Marilyn Wernicke July 29, 1949. Miles was a music educator band director and teacher for several schools beginning at Harrison and retiring from Owen Gage Schools. He was a lifelong musician and trumpet player. He was proficient on many instruments but he favored his trumpet. Even as a young teenager he was playing with several big bands in the Flint area. He played many years in an ensemble named the Staccato’s. Miles played with the Bill Denbrock Big Band for over 27 years.
