Funeral Information

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at 1 pm. at St. Hubert Parish-Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe. Officiating will be Fr. Rob Howe, pastor. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 11 am. until the service time at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be offered to Compassus Hospice in Cass City, MI. Arrangements by the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe. Robert is survived by: Wife- Pauline Goretski of Bad Axe, Children: Michael (Bonnie) Goretski, Bad Axe; Ronald (Roxanne) Goretski, Elk Rapids; Debbie (Ron) Prill, Fairfield, OH; Mark (Joanne) Maurer and Cindy (Jeff) Carson, all of Bad Axe. Brother-Edward (Marie) Goretski of Kinde. Sister-in-law-Marie (Dan) Horetski of Kinde. Grandchildren-Michael (Chris) J. Goretski, David Goretski, Lenny Goretski, Wendy (Steve Biellek) Goretski, Isabell Robles, Frankie Robles, Kelly (Cara) Prill, Lynn Prill, Robin Boland, Jeremy (Nicole) Maurer, Becky (Greg) Braun, RaeAnn (Shawn) Roehrig and Traci (James) Jackson. 17 Great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by: Son- Leonard Goretski. Brothers-Raymond (Pat) Goretski and Ervin (Agnes)Goretski. Sisters-Theresa (Leo) Bodis and Irene (Scotty) Yaroch. -Grandson-Ryan Maurer. Biography

Robert Goretski, age 94, of Bad Axe, passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2016. Robert was born on January 16, 1922 in Port Austin, son of the late Floyd and Alice (Pincoski) Goretski. Robert (Bob) attended Sacred Heart Catholic School. In 1942 he began his business, Goretski Excavating, with one truck and several shovels. In 1980 the business became incorporated. Bob was proud to have his sons and family members working alongside him in his thriving business. On October 27, 1999, Bob married Pauline Maurer at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bad Axe.
