Funeral Information

Funeral Service for Margaret will be Friday December 8th at the MacAlpine Gage Chapel in Kinde at 12:00 noon. Dee Mixter, Pastoral Assistant of Sacred Heart Catholic church will be officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 until the time of service on Friday. Burial will take place at St. Edward’s Cemetery.

Margaret was the loving wife of Walter Willey, who preceded her in death in 2002. She was the loving Mother of Christine Larese, who preceded her in death; Loving Mother of Steven R. Bland (Theresa) of South Lyon, Michigan. She was also preceded in death by her brothers Edward Jr, Audree (Bud) H., Donald J., Kenneth, Karl T., and Arlen (Fritz) R. (Vernier Brothers) Margaret was a Loving Grandmother, Aunt and Great Grandmother.

Biography

Margaret R. Willey 83 of Kinde, passed away December 3, 2017 at Huron Medical Center in Bad Axe. She was born January 20, 1934 in Mt. Clemens Michigan, the daughter of Edward Vernier, and Ruth (Meldrum ) Vernier. Margaret was a Loving Grandmother, Aunt and Great Grandmother. Margaret retired from Macomb County and moved to Huron County. While with Macomb County, she was an active Union Representative/Steward/ Member of AFCSME 25 Negotiations Team. Margaret enjoyed spending time crocheting, knitting, fishing, camping, yardwork and playing cards. She also spent time volunteering at Huron Medical Center. She was an active supporter of the North Huron Athletic Teams; football, baseball, softball, and basketball. She had great pleasure meeting with parents, and Grandparents who made her feel special allowing her to share in their joy. Memorials may be given to the North Huron Athletic Department.
