Surviving are her children Julia (David Brady) Strieter of Caseville, Allen (Patti) Strieter of Pickford and Elizabeth (Jay) Munnelly of Arvada, CO; grandchildren Fran Griffin, Laura Munnelly and Casey Mason; great-grandchild Josephine Griffin; brothers Kenny Sternberg of Gladwin and Duane Sternberg of Willow Run, IN; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by grandson Jesse Strieter and siblings Carl Sternberg, Arlene Jackson, Betty McIlhargie, Blanche Kohler, Florence Schad, Andy Sternberg, Clarence Sternberg, Faye Sternberg and Oscar Sternberg, Jr.
Dona J. Strieter, 87, of Unionville, died Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Scheurer Hospital Long Term Care Unit in Pigeon. She was born February 27, 1930 in Bad Axe to the late Oscar and Gertrude (Day) Sternberg. On July 12, 1952 she was united in marriage to Richard Dean Strieter in the Unionville Moravian Church; he preceded her in death on December 10, 2006. Dona received her registered nursing degree in 1951 from Saginaw General Hospital; her 44 year nursing career was spent working throughout Tuscola County. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and gardening. Dona was a long time member of the Unionville Moravian Church and the Michigan Nursing Association.
