Funeral Services for Richard Korn will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, December 21, 2017 at the Knoblock Funeral Home, Kinde. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 from 5-8 pm and on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Memorials may be made to North Huron Elementary School.
He is survived by his wife, Jan Korn of Port Austin: His daughters, Julie Toner of Port Austin, Katie (Sean) Brown of Flowery Branch, Georgia, and four grandchildren: Madalynne, Brody, Brooklyn, and Clark Toner. Also surviving are his siblings: Ed Korn of Port Austin, Marlene Gracey of Huntley, IL, Donnie (LuAnne) of Downey, CA, and Linda (Dick) Murawski of Lake Orion: His sisters-in-law; Carol Johnston of Grand Rapids, Cheryl Krueger of Brighton. He was preceded in death by his sister-in-law, Doreen Korn, brother-in-law Jake Gracey, sister-in-law Gayle Berry and brother-in-law, Doug Johnston.
Richard D. Korn, 75, passed away unexpectedly at home on Monday, December 18, 2017. Rich was born on February 24, 1942, in Detroit, the son of the late Edwin and Theresa (Klosowski) Korn. Rich graduated from Port Austin High School in 1960. He married Janice McAleer on February 10, 1973 in Bad Axe. He served in Germany and Washington State in the Army and was honorably discharged in July of 1967. He and his wife both retired from the family business (Formax Manufacturing) in Grand Rapids in 2012 and then moved back to Port Austin. He enjoyed rides in the country, casino trips, gardening, and most of all his grandchildren.
