Faye Marie Scott, 63, of Kinde, passed away on December 19, 2017 at Huron Medical Center in Bad Axe after battling a long illness. She was born in Bad Axe, Michigan at Hubbard Memorial Hospital on August 9, 1954 to the late John A. Sr. and Fayetta (Fezzy) MacDonald. As a child, Faye loved to spend time on their large family homestead just east of Bad Axe. She loved attending the Huron Community Fair every year, gardening, canning, raising chickens, baking cookies, climbing in the barn, spending close time with her mother, dad, big brother, little sisters, the neighbor kids, pets, and her MacDonald cousins. Faye loved listening to the radio and collecting records when she was young. She also attended Pangborn Country School on the M-19 corner. John Jr. and Faye walked to school from their farm. Faye loved attending the old Bad Axe Junior High too in town. Faye then attended Bad Axe High School, class of ‘73. She sang in choir and spent time with friends. In ‘73 Faye brought home a beautiful baby girl named Marie Elizabeth. A few years later, she received her high school diploma from North Huron High School in the night school program. Faye worked many jobs in her day, including the hospital cafeteria, and her dad’s produce stand. Faye landed her dream job working at Thumb Industries sheltered workshop of Bad Axe. It was the perfect job for her. It was her passion to help the clients in every aspect. Even though Faye was a single mom for many years, she really made Marie’s childhood special. In ‘84 Faye met Jim, out one night with friends. It was meant to be! In ‘85 another bouncing baby girl was born. They named her Shannon Jessie. The doctor said “boy, she sure is a spunky little girlâ€. So Jim and Faye called her Spunky. During this time Faye became a grandmother to 5 wonderful grandchildren. She loved being a grandmother and spent a lot of time with Chantel, Mathew, Cheyanne and her grand puppies. She really loved her son-in-law’s Gary and Tim too. Faye never had a chance to have a son and she finally did. Faye was a wonderful Aunt, Great Aunt, and Cousin to her family. When Jim was diagnosed with cancer they decided to get married finally. She married the love of her life, James W. Scott, during Christmas time on December 22, 2009. He preceded her in death on September 29, 2012. She was a supervisor at Thumb Industries for 23 years. She enjoyed volunteering in the Special Olympics, helping with the girl’s school activities, playing cards, quilting, sewing, tending to her flower gardens, reading, digging up her family’s ancestry, cooking, baking, cake decorating, bird watching and spending time with her dear family and friends. She loved China King, Diet Coke, and Cheeseburgers from Verona Bar.
