Funeral Information

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 3 pm. at the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 12 noon until the service time at 3 pm. Meal following at the Huron County Expo Center. Mary is survived by her husband of 62 years, Earl Duane Jurges of Bad Axe. Special friends – Wilma Demming and Arlene Becking. Her caretaker – Jane Scherret. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Eva Morley. Sisters – Gloria Morley and Jeanne Smith Grandsons – Michael Jurges and Travis Guinther. Father and Mother in law – Earl and Hazel Jurges. Brothers-in-law – Clayton Maurer, Gilbert Grobbel, and Bob Arnott. Niece – Vicky Arnott. Special friend- June Nugent.

Biography

Mary Barbara Louis Jurges, age 81, of Bad Axe, passed away at her home under hospice care with her family at her side. Her Lord and Savior called her home after a long illness. Mary was born September 27, 1937 in Harbor Beach, daughter of the late Joseph and Eva (Brown) Morley. She married E. Duane Jurges on May 19, 1956. Mary worked at the Lerash Food Line, Kroger and Farmer Jack. Mary also owned a ceramic store for many years and was a certified instructor. Later, she went to work for Huron Behavioral Health, she retired in 2013. Member of Ubly First Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder for many years.
