Funeral Information

Mass of Christian burial for Marion will be 11:00 am Saturday, November 24 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Hubert Parish in Rapson. Rev. Robert Howe, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home on Friday from 4:00-8:00 pm and Saturday at St. Joseph Church from 10:00-10:45 am. Marion is survived by her children, Gerald of Indianapolis, IN, Janet (Marvin) Kramer of Harbor Beach, Charlet (Thomas) Essenmacher of Los Lunas, NM, Marvin Smaglinski of Harbor Beach, Richard (Stacy) Smaglinski of Canal Fulton, OH, Susan (Jeffery) Lange of Bad Axe; 28 grandchildren; 59 great grandchildren; two sisters, Georgeana (Meinard) Guza of Bad Axe, Andrea Piotrowski of Clinton Twp., one sister-in-law, Genevieve Horvet of Plymouth. She was preceded in death by one daughter-in-law, Barbara Smaglinski; one grandson,, Jeffery Smaglinski; in-laws, Beatrice and Joseph Gosdzinski, Clarence, Eugene and Phillip Smaglinski, Kenneth Horvet, James Piotrowski.

Biography

Marion L. Smaglinski, 87 of Harbor Beach passed away Monday, November 19, 2018 at the Huron County Medical Care Facility in Bad Axe. She was born July 25, 1931 in Ubly to the late Edward and Edna (Salowitz) Paionk. She married Frank A. Smaglinski on May 28, 1949 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville. He preceded her in death on August 29, 2005. Marion was a graduate of a country school. She was a parishioner at St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Hubert Parish in Rapson since 1950 and was a former member of the St. Rita Altar Society. Marion enjoyed baking, canning, playing cards and crocheting afghans.
