Biography

Betty Ann Wardhammar, 83, of Indianapolis, Indiana, formerly of Bad Axe and Sand Point, died Saturday, December 1, 2018 in Indianapolis. Betty Ann was born October 2, 1935 in Paterson, New Jersey to the late Carl and Meta (Borner) Reins. Her early working years were spent as an administrative assistant in New York City’s Empire State Building and then on to Sandvik Steel Corporation. Later on, she cherished her many years as secretary to the principal at the Bad Axe Junior High School. Betty Ann enjoyed visiting with family and friends, singing and the playing the organ, watching sports on television, playing yard games and board games, tending her wildflower garden and being outdoors. Although her life was forever changed by early-onset dementia, Betty Ann was proud to say she was a 2-time cancer survivor, and she enjoyed a long, happy retirement.
