She is survived by her children: Edward Dolan, Jr., Bad Axe, Susan (Rich) Sutton, Traverse City, Kathleen, Saline, and Mary Barsch of San Jose; and her grandchildren, Lauren (Daniel) Furey, Matt & Ben Sutton, and Sarah & Elise Barsch. Also surviving are her siblings: Florence Yaroch, Venice Clancy, Irene Pettit, Eldon Knoblock, Betty Jane Hertel, Ken (Belle) Knoblock, Dan Knoblock, Don (Marilou) Knoblock, Karen (Jack) Gilbreath, Gary (Beth) Knoblock and Linda (Paul) Burger. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Lorraine Kelterborn, Edwin Knoblock, Jr., and her brothers-in-law; Irv Pettit, David Kelterborn, Larry Yaroch and Gene Clancy.

Biography

Lillian was born on May 31, 1932 the daughter of the late Edwin and Gertrude (Sosnoski) Knoblock in Port Austin, Michigan. She was the third oldest in a family of 14 children. She and Edward J. Dolan were married at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Port Austin on September 29, 1956. He preceded her in death on October 6, 1975. After graduating from Port Austin High School, Lil moved to Detroit, where she managed to get into Providence School of Nursing by living at the Y.W.C.A. and waitressing at J.L. Hudson’s Tea Room in downtown Detroit. While in Providence, Lil was captain of the basketball team and president of the Student Body. In her third year at Providence she was chosen Student Nurse of the Year. Lil moved her family home to Port Austin in 1975, residing there until she moved to Saline in 1999. Lillian was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Port Austin. She enjoyed her large family, and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. She had a great sense of humor and lived life to the fullest. Lil loved to travel throughout the US, as well as Europe, Africa, and Asia.
