A memorial service will be held at the Bad Axe Seventh –Day Adventist Church (229 Willis St., Bad Axe, MI 48413) on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at 2:30 p.m. A gathering will be from 1 – 2:30 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Heartland Hospice or to the Bad Axe Seventh-day Adventist Church building fund. The family would like to thank the exceptional nursing staff, doctors, and Heartland Hospice for their compassionate and loving support during Jack’s illness. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Donna Marsa of Bad Axe; his children: Karen (Bill) Reinke of Greeley, CO., Bradley Tracee) Marsa of Port Hope, and Ami (Arlin) Wells of Arglye, NY. his grandchildren: Kevin (Liesel) Reinke of Plymouth, Steven Reinke of Greeley, CO., Ginger, AJ, and Alex Wells of Argyle, NY., and Nathan, Patrick and Jacob Marsa of Port Hope. Jack is also survived by his step-mother, Mary (Andy) Marsa Pittman of Bad Axe; his sisters-in-law, Jean Marsa of St. Louis, MO. and Myrna Marsa of Hillsboro, OR.; brother-in-law, Rhod (Jutta) Shea of Barrie, ON; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Biography

Jack Duane Marsa, born at Bad Axe Hubbard Hospital on November 13, 1930, passed to his rest on Wednesday, September 18, 2019; age 88. He was the son of the late Norman and Roberta (Henry) Marsa. Jack graduated from Bad Axe High School, class of 1949 and went on to farm all his life in the Rapson area. He married Donna Shea on August 7, 1966 at the Sarnia, ON Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Jack was a member of the Bad Axe SDA Church where he served as deacon for many years. He retired from farming eight years ago after a traumatic brain injury robbed him of his memory. He continued to enjoy reading the farm papers, his Bible and visiting with family and friends.
