Mass of Christian burial will take place 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Fr. T.J. Fleming officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at MacAlpine Funeral Home in Bad Axe with a Scripture service at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be at the church on Thursday 10 a.m. until time of service. Ken is survived by his wife, Doris Holz; his children: Debora (Doug) Messing, Karen (Kurt) Pankau, and Paul Holz (fiancée Alexandra Fleming); his grandchildren: Bradley (Corissa) Messing, Laura Messing, Lindsey Messing (fiancé Brian VanMeter), Kayla Holz, Tara Holz and Kenneth Pankau; and great-grandchildren: Kaelyn and Bentley Messing and Jaxtin VanMeter. He is also survived by his siblings: Carol Bowron, Susan (Leonard) Czewski, Kathy (Fred) Karg, Robert “Moe†(Nancy) Holz and John (Kathy) Holz; brother-in-law: Carl Talaski; sisters-in-law: Janice Holz, Loreane Holz, Peggy (Fred) Sakowski, Betty Cornett, Mary Ann Brown and Nancy (Jerry) Smith; along with many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Duard Holz, Matthew (Marion) Holz, Gerald Holz; sisters: Helen (Gilbert) Rooney and Doris Talaski; brothers-in-law: Wilford Bowron, Deward Trepkowski, James (Patricia) Trepkowski, Ernest Cornett and Wilbert Brown.
Kenneth J. Holz, 88, of Meade Township, passed away on September 29, 2019 at his home. He was born on September 1, 1931 to the late Matthew and Delcina (Bouverette) Holz. On April 7, 1956 he married Doris M. Trepkowski. Ken was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church/St. Hubert Parish. He was a board member of Meade Township for many years. His passion was working on his family farm. Ken also enjoyed hunting, playing cards and spending time with his family and friends.
