A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 2, 2019 at 11 am at St. Isadore Parish – St. Mary Catholic Church in Parisville. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, December 1, 2019 from 2 – 8 pm at the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe and Monday at the church from 10 am until the service time at 11 am. A scripture service will be offered on Sunday at 7 pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be offered to the American Cancer Society. She is survived by one daughter, Sharon (Larry) Knapp of Arizona. Seven sons- Stanley Osantowski of Bad Axe, Daniel Osantowski of Madison Heights, Raymond (Elvera) Osantowski of Utica, Roman (Evelyn) Osantowski of Armada, Gary (Cindy) Osantowski of Ubly, Thomas (Joann) Osantowski of Cass City and Roy (Barbara) Osantowski of Dryden. Four step-daughters – Carol Thomas of Nevada, Eileen Mitchell, Darlene (Wesley) Pellow of Hazel Park and Marsha Lynn of Hazel Park. 48 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 29 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Roman Osantowski and Frank Piot. Four sisters – Gertrude Oparka, Balbina Klama, Monica Oparka and Bertha Osantowski. One daughter-in-law – Gladys Osantowski. Two grandsons – Jerry Osantowski and Curtis Lemanski. One great-great-grandchild
Johanna Julia Osantowski-Piot, age 94, of Hazel Park, formerly of Parisville passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at her home under hospice care surrounded by her family. She was born on May 16, 1925 in Harbor Beach, daughter of the late Theofil and Mary (Mendalski) Spitza. She married Roman Osantowski on April 6, 1942. He preceded her in death on March 18, 1972. She married Frank Piot on September 10, 1977. He preceded her in death on August 8, 2003. Johanna worked at Clements Wire & Cable in Minden City for 14 years, ITT in Coolidge, MI for 91/2 years and retired from American Cable after 8 years. She enjoyed planting flowers and gardening, going to the cottage and cooking.
