At the age of 84, loving mother of four children, Marie Goretski of Kinde lost her battle with cancer on December 17, 2019. Marie was born November 12, 1935 to the late Karl and Margaret Byarski. Marie attended North Huron Schools where she graduated Salutatorian and was united in marriage to Edward Goretski on September 7, 1957. The couple made Kinde their home, started a family and raised four beautiful daughters. She retired from First of America bank in Kinde and managed the bookkeeping for her and Ed’s business, “Thumb Excavating.†She was a lifelong member of St Mary/St Edward Catholic church of Kinde. Marie’s greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially enjoying her grand and great grandchildren. She and Ed loved hosting people at their beautiful “Honeymoon†cottage in the woods. She was the light in the room whenever she walked in; her loving smile was contagious to everyone she met. She loved animals, birds, visiting, helping those in need, going to the casino, bowling, playing cards and spending time with those she loved. Marie was a caregiver to everyone, a mother and grandmother to anyone in need, the size of her heart is only eclipsed by the amount of joy she gave others in return.
