he funeral service for Bob will be 5:00 pm Monday, December 14 at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly. Pastor Paul McNett of the Caro Church of Nazarene will officiate. Visitation will be at the Zinger-Smigielski Funeral Home in Ubly on Monday from 12:00-5:00 pm. Please consider making your memorial donation to Bob’s family, care of his wife, Patricia.

Family of the Deceased

Bob is survived by his wife Pat; son, Robert D. Sutton and his wife, Wanda (Stein) Sutton; daughter, Lanor A. Jablonski-Burg and her husband Jay Burg. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, Nicole A. (Jablonski) Holden and her husband, Douglas W. Holden, Dana M. Jablonski and her special boyfriend, Preston Chapman, Steve and Stephanie (Stein) Reyes. Bob enjoyed every visit with his great grandchildren, Leah, Jaselyn, Jayde and Everleigh. Bob will also be missed by his sister-in-law, Ruth Osentoski along with many nieces and nephews. Bob has rejoined his siblings and his brothers-in law that preceded him in death, Gary Ross Sr. , Clifford Ross and Henry “Hank” Osentoski. They are all playing cards and having a merry time.

Biography

Robert Leo Sutton, age 86 of Ubly, passed away on December 10, 2020. He was born in Sault St. Marie on June 4, 1934 to the late Kathryne (MaLone) and David Sutton. Robert “Bob” grew up in Brimley with his four sisters, Molly, Gladys, Helen, Norajean “Nonnie” and his brother, James “Bud”. Bob graduated from Brimley High School in 1952. He then served in the US Army for two years before meeting his beloved wife, Patricia “Pat” Ross. They were married on May 13, 1961 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Freiburg. They moved to Pontiac and resided there for 48 years. Bob worked for the Grand Trunk Railroad for almost 48 years before retiring in 1996. Bob and his wife, Pat moved to her hometown of Ubly. Bob was a member of the Pontiac Eagles, the Pontiac and Caro Moose Lodge, and the American Legions of Pontiac. His favorite pass times were playing cards, watching sports, mostly the Detroit Tigers and Red Wings, and listening to classic country music, Willie’s Roadhouse, on SXM.
