Biography

JEAN EGGERT, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, went peacefully to her heavenly home on December 26, 2020, while at home, from ovarian cancer at the age of 78. Jean Harriet (Karg) Eggert was born 2-17-1942. Daughter of the late Emil and Margaret (Hannselman) Karg. She married the love of her life Orville Eggert on August 13, 1960 at Zion Lutheran Church in Harbor Beach, where she was a member her entire life. Jean took care of the home and family and worked at the Harbor Beach Community Hospital for several years, in housekeeping. Jean and Orville recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a family celebration. They LOVED to dance and dance they did to every song til the last song or until they could not dance any more. They enjoyed many road trips and bus trips to see the country and even visit a casino or two. Her smile and laughter are a few of the things people knew her by, she was a giving person not of just things but of time and a listening ear to any and all who had need. No one was unwelcome in their home. She served her family with love through family gatherings, especially at Christmas and the annual 4th of July family get together, which were known for the wonderful and large quantities of food, where she often made everyone’s favorite dish. Her pies and potato salad were some of her family favorites. Her love of canning fruits and vegetables stocked the basement shelves. Many did not know about her ability to convert treasures to art, especially painting and many seasonal yard decorations. Her passing leaves a huge hole in our family.
