Family of the Deceased

Donna is survived by five children and their spouses, Ray & Donna Simmons of Port Austin, Jeff & Karie Simmons of Caro, Tracy Gainforth, Robin & Jon Mauer of Tennessee, Keith Cross of Caro; thirteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; siblings and spouses, Leslie, Jr. & Bev Simmons, Richard Simmons; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Donna was preceded in death by two siblings, Henry Simmons and Rose Stiebe.

Biography

Donna J. (Simmons) Cross of Caro, age 82, passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community in Caro. Donna was born March 30, 1939 in Dwight Township, the daughter of the late Leslie and Hazel (Carson) Simmons and was a 1957 graduate of Elkton High School. She was employed as an attendant nurse at the Caro Center for over twenty-five years. Donna volunteered with the American Legion and also with the Department of Health and Human Services as a driver. She enjoyed bingo, scratch off lottery, tending to her flower gardens, and most importantly, spending time with her grandchildren.
