Friends may call for visitation on Thursday, July 8, 2021 from 2 -8 pm at the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe or Friday at the church from 10 am until the service time at 11 am. Kurt is survived by his son – Brent Jimpkoski (Karleigh Irion) of Elkton. Daughters – Calie and Kirsten Young of Bad Axe. Granddaughter – Emily Jimpkoski of Elkton. Father – Gary (Wendy) Young of Elkton. Mother – Diane Kosinski Young of Elkton and fiancé Dennis Horetski of Pt. Austin. Brother – Gary (Gayleen) Young of Arizona. Grandmother – Ethaleen Ritter of Filion. Aunts – Sharon (Jim) Andrews of Oklahoma, Janet (Thomas) O’Brian of Oklahoma, Rose (Bill) Chappel of Bad Axe, Sandie (Randy) Haley of Bad Axe, and Brenda (Clayton “Capâ€) Pethers of Kinde. Uncles – Daniel “Boom†Kosinski of Filion and special friend Margaret Perdue of Kinde, Mike (Vicki) Ritter of Kinde, Dennis Ritter and special friend Carol Schipinski of Kinde, Mark Ritter and special friend Dena Holz of Kinde, and Steve Ritter of Kinde. Godparents – Melinda Osantoski of Bad Axe and David Ritter of Cass City. His best friend – Brock (Sue) Heck of Bad Axe. Kurt was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents – George and Rhea Young. Maternal grandfather – Rudolph Kosinski. Maternal step-grandfather – James Ritter.
Kurt Edward Young, age 42, of Filion, passed away after a short illness on Monday, July 5, 2021 at McLaren Lapeer Region Hospital with his family by his side. Kurt was born on September 28, 1978 at Huron Memorial Hospital in Bad Axe. Kurt graduated from Laker High School in May of 1996. He worked at Thumb Tool and Engineering for 25 years as a production CAD manager. He enjoyed his job and being with his family and friends. He was a fun loving easy going person who enjoyed life to the fullest. Everyone enjoyed being around him. He will be missed dearly by family and friends. His children say they will always miss his laugh.
